An employee of a large gold finance company was killed and two of his colleagues were injured after a gang of five armed thieves broke into their office on Friday and opened fire, an official said of the police.

“A gang of five masked robbers, wielding pistols and an ax, broke into the Muthoot Finance office located near the City Center Mall in the town’s Untwadi community. At that time, five employees of the firm and eight clients were present there. thieves stole their cell phones, ”said Nashik Police Commissioner Vishwas Nangre-Patil.

Branch manager Chandrashekhar Deshpande (64) and auditor Kailash Jain (25) were injured in the incident.
They were admitted to the Nashik civilian hospital, he said. The thieves fled, Nangre-Patil said, adding that a dog squad and forensic experts have been commissioned and that a “nakabandi” operation is underway to find the culprits.
Later, a case was filed against the unidentified accused at Ambad Police Station under section 396 (dacility with murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Weapons Act.
